Two years ago today, The Catholic Conspiracy launched with modest fanfare, a lot of hope, and a clear mission:
To create a smaller scale group blog, where writers wouldn’t get lost within the crowd. Where their distinct, Catholic voices could be expressed and heard, and to form an online community of faith, hope, and charity.
In our introductory post way back in the day, we said:
The Catholic Conspiracy bloggers are faithful to the Magisterium, in love with Jesus Christ and His Church, and dedicated to bringing Him to the world. We are not a news site. We don’t have correspondents in Rome. We don’t have a secret agenda, and we don’t collaborate from a hidden base somewhere in North America. We’re not hatching plots to infiltrate centers of higher education and government (although that does sound pretty cool!). We’re not here to subvert Church teaching, or promulgate dissent, or foment division. Our mission is our tagline: Catholic bloggers conspiring to bring Christ to the world.
The same holds true today. Although our small group has more than doubled in size from those early days, we have resisted the temptation to grow much bigger, deciding to remain small. We may be a little lamp atop a short lampstand, but gosh darn it, we intend to burn bright and long.
Our goal has always been to provide content that is Catholic, thoughtful, and edifying. To be a respite from the noise and outrage that dominates so much of social media and the blogosphere. We think we’ve been pretty successful. Sure, the frequency of posts may be inconsistent at times – Real Life™ happens, even for writers – but our content has been extremely consistent. We take this seriously (even if we don’t take ourselves all that seriously).
On the occasion of our second anniversary, we want to say “Thank You!” to all of our readers. Every TCC contributor is grateful for your patronage, and we appreciate you take the time to read our stuff. The likes and shares are great, too! But most of all, we’re simply grateful, ever hopeful we are doing something of value – for you and for the kingdom of God.
To show our appreciation, we are having another Conspiracy Collection giveaway! Many of our contributors have either published a book in the past year, or collaborated on one. This year’s list is super-impressive. Check these out:
