Who I Am, Where I’ve Been

If I could spare just one more moment,
I’d stop and look for you again.
If this hurtling train, this consuming fate,
Carried me to your front steps,
I would tell you who I am, where I’ve been.
But the time between us has smothered the revelation.
That I’m not the one you left behind.
The passages, the healing, the sure deliverance
(There’s no turning back)
Have hardened me for this path sublime
