Beloved Mother Mary, Mother of Sisters and Nuns, take to your heart your daughters who are close to you because of their higher calling and because of the power which they have received to carry on the work of Christ in a world which needs them so much.
In this holy season of Lent be their comfort, be their joy, and be their strength. Loving Mother help them to live and defend the ideals that your son suffered and died for so that we may have life eternal.

Our Lady of Fatima instill in our Sisters and Nuns the confidence and perseverance to do the will of your son, Jesus.
Let them be a refuge to the poor and the needy in distress.
Let them offer a place of shelter for the wearied soul.
Let them be the hands and heart of your son in our world, that their work on our behalf may be the cause of their unending joy.

To be consecrated as a priest, monk, sister, nun, or hermit, working in the world or cloistered is a vocation of celibacy and poverty. It is a calling few want to hear in our western world.
Let us pray that those called to such a life will hear and be unafraid.
This prayer was found on the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops web site:
O God, Father of all Mercies,
Provider of a bountiful Harvest,
send Your Graces upon those
You have called to gather the fruits of Your labor;
preserve and strengthen them in their lifelong service of you.
Open the hearts of Your children
that they may discern Your Holy Will;
inspire in them a love and desire to surrender themselves
to serving others in the name of Your son, Jesus Christ.
Teach all Your faithful to follow their respective paths in life
guided by Your Divine Word and Truth.
Through the intercession of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary,
all the Angels, and Saints, humbly hear our prayers
and grant Your Church’s needs, through Christ, our Lord.

When the decision is made to progress into a new way of life, the associated fear of the unknown can halt our movement. Sometimes we are faced with our own naiveté when we discover that we don’t even know what we don’t know.
And though we’ve prayed, and sought advice from those more experienced, only the person, within themselves, can we quell the anxiety and choose to step into the unfamiliar.
Let us pray for those beloved women who have discerned a calling to become Sisters and Nuns. Let us pray for their concerns to be transformed into trusting God’s will, for if God had brought them to the edge of such a life, he will surely guide them to fruition.
Let us pray, too, for those consecrated Sisters and Nuns who mentor the novices to be all they have been called to be.
In Jesus name, Amen.

God that lights our way, we ask that you hear us as we offer prayers for our Sisters and Nuns.
That in their work at the motherhouse or away from their convent, you illumine their choices by the light of the Gospel. In all their dealings with loved ones or strangers, you enlighten their hearts with the light of your love. That in all their decisions shed upon their path the light of your will.
We ask all this in Jesus name. Amen.
