Hunter’s Snare

Hunter’s Snare

My eyes were fixed
Upon the tempting
So that I did not notice
The snare.

How deliteful it was,
Just as it looked,
When I retrieved it
And the clamp closed.

Excruciating was the pain
And at first I wrestled
To try and get loose
But it tore my flesh all the more.

I lay still and in agony
Until another could set me free.

My eyes became fixed
Upon the tempting
So that I did not notice
The snare.

It was not so deliteful
And the clamp closed.

I lay still and in agony
Until another could set me free.

My eyes became fixed
Upon the tempting
So that I did not notice
The snare.

It was not so deliteful
And the clamp closed.

My eyes were fixed
upon him who comes
to set me free,
delite in his delite for me.
