To My Fellow Men, On Christmas

To My Fellow Men, On Christmas
Men,
every time you’re not sure
how you can do what needs to be done,
every time you dont know what to do
but cant show it,
dont know how to hurt
but cant show it,
dont know how to be scared
but cant show it,
dont know how to lead
but cant let everyone know you’re clueless,
remember how St. Joseph
must’ve felt and delt with today.

Get through it as he did,
on faith, on providence, on prayer–
as a protector, a provider,
a spouse, a father.
Do what he taught us to do best,
work the problem
without letting anyone see
that you’re working.

Ask for the courage
to drive the fear
from your heart.

And all for the Christ child.

Amen.
