You are never obligated to surrender into your anger, your sadness, or even some antiquated presumption of unworthiness.
But recognize these self-concerned disruptions for what they really are. A mangled and broken space through which you sometimes must unwillingly crawl, a narrow opening that can allow you to envision some better self, and the ultimate proving ground of humanity’s common blood flowing through you, that vulnerable life force connecting us one to the other.
Feelings pass. Emotions sometimes fail us. Intensity peters out.
But you remain.
Even when you feel most compelled to surrender.
