Contrary to what you might have come to believe, I am contrary
My lies tell the truth about me, my wisdom hides my ignorance
If my appearance at all pleases, it only covers up what is ugly
If it’s confidence that you perceive, you’ve not seen my fear
I am a walking contradiction, yet I am entirely consistent
Contrary to what you might have come to believe, I am
Most assuredly contrary.
