Isolated moments render the harshest judgments.
Most hours, the day’s mask slips on with ease
Disguising my gaze, dissauding my candor.
But in this place, today, at this moment,
Shards of self bleed my phoniness,
And drink defeats my dullness.
My heart and head revolt.
– One honest moment –
Then, turning back,
I pretend again
And carry
On
